Focus Izalco Max Disc 2019 | First Look & Review

The Izalco Max Disc was first seen back in August at the 2019 Focus launch but has been kept top secret until its unveiling towards the end of 2018 prior to the first bikes landing early in 2019. The Focus engineers concentrated on developing their most aero bike yet. The predecessor of the Izalco Max Disc was already the lightest production disc brake frame available at the time of it’s release and Focus have managed to maintain the lightweight platform whilst increasing the aerodynamics.

“With 200 watts input over 50km, the new IZALCO MAX is 1:30 minutes faster in comparison to the previous model with same wheels, components, position and dummy test rider”

Best Aero Road Bike 2019?

There will be a lot of competition for this title an we are sure the new Izalco Max Disc will be in the mix, although the overall winner is likely to be the revolutionary new S5 Disc released by Cervelo. The Focus however is extremely likely to win this title when looking at certain price points, especially with their 8.7 series featuring a carbon cockpit and wheelset at just £2649.
