Cervelo R5 2026 | 5.97kg and Race Ready

The R5 is legendary. From the limits-shattering R5CA to Wout van Aert’s winning day on Mont Ventoux, R5 has been part of Cervelo’s story for over two decades. This all-new R5 is an incredibly light (5.97kg in RED and Dura-Ace builds) road bike that’s also stiff enough to compete at the highest levels of professional cycling—as Pauline Ferrand-Prevot proved when she rode it to victory at this summer’s Tour de France Femmes.
It’s easy enough to make a light bike, but to make a light bike that’s stiff enough to accelerate quickly and transfer power from the sport’s biggest motors? That’s another challenge entirely. R5 is the bike for big days in the high mountains of the Tour de France, and the punishingly steep climbs of the Vuelta a Espana. Bikes built for the mountains must not only accelerate rapidly and climb exceptionally, but descend confidently and predictably. While the UCI mandates a minimum weight of 6.8kg, those of us in the ‘mere mortal’ category will benefit from having the lightest road bike on the market.
Cervelo R5 2026| Weight
The new R5 in a size 56 builds up to just 5.97kg, a full 900 grams under the UCI’s minimum weight limit. The frame is just 651 grams (size 56), and the fork is 298 grams. In addition to the 100g reduction in frame/fork weight, we’ve turned our attention to every single component on the bike, for a total weight reduction of 326g from all Cervelo components.

While the handling geometry on the new R5 is nearly the same (aside from a small change to BB drop to account for 29mm tires), we changed the fit geometry to match that of the S5. Whether you’re switching between the models like Team Visma | Lease A Bike or R5 is your only ride, you’ll be in a stronger position for the fastest group rides.

Cervelo R5 2026 | Handlebar
The all-new HB18 bar/stem not only dropped nearly 150 grams from the weight of the bike, but it also helps the bike be two Watts more aerodynamic than the previous R5. We applied learnings from the S5 handlebar to develop a comfortable, fast, and stiff handlebar, ideal for big days in the saddle and hard fights to the line. All bar sizes are UCI-legal, even in light of the most recent regulations change. The new R5’s one-piece bar and stem were responsible for a significant part of the weight reduction of the bike, and we know that a perfect fit is a critical part of getting the most out of your new bike. We made 15 different size combinations, and when you buy an R5, we will help you get the right size, for no additional cost.
Cervelo R5 2026 | Wheelset
Designed specifically for R5, the all-new Reserve 34 | 37 SL wheelset helped us drop an additional 60 grams. The new wheels deliver the same strength and stiffness as the old ones, but we refined the layup to save weight without hampering performance.

Cervelo R5 2026 | Colours
The Cervelo R5 2026 is available in Five Black Silver or Five Black Bronze. The specification are as per the colour meaning Five Black Silver is available on the Sram Force and Shimano Ultegra Di2 bikes and Five Black Bronze available on the Sram Red and Dura Ace Di2 bikes. Both the Five Black Silver and Five Black Bronze are available as frameset only options, although availability will be limited. If you would prefer a colour not available in your desired specification, contact us and we will endeavour to make this happen for you.

Availability: If a bike is showing as 'available' this means it is either in stock with us or at our suppliers warehouse; the delivery time when available is usually 3-5 working days. If there is a pre-order date this means the bike is currently not in stock or available at our suppliers and the next availability will be from that specific pre-order date; the delivery time will then be 3-5 working days from the pre-order date (please not on occasions pre-order dates can alter due to component availability).

Pre-Order: To pre-order a bike you simply need to use the 25% deposit code 'DEPOSIT25' during checkout. This will secure the bike with a 25% deposit with the rest payable prior to collection or delivery.

Competitive Pricing: We will simply offer you a competitive price across our range of bikes to every customer, every day of the year, not just during promotions. In addition to a competitive price, you will also receive our high level of service; check out our 5 stars google rating from recent reviews.

Price Match: We will endeavour to price match or even beat a price offered by other retailers based on their price and level of service. The majority of our bikes go out with some level of customisation (eg: wheelset upgrade, component size, gear ratios, tyre upgrades etc.) and this often provides better value than a discount. In addition, all our road bikes receive a complimentary Bike Fit on collection and we spend lots of time explaining the setup during collection too. Finance: We offer 0% finance over 12 months, 4.9% finance over 18 months or 9.9% finance over 24 months. If you would like to enquire for a bike on finance you can contact us with the details using our finance application form here and we will email you an application. Alternatively you can come and see us at the shop and we will go through the finance application with you, see what you need to bring here.

Cycle to Work Scheme: A great way of saving money on your bike is using the cycle to work scheme. There are various schemes available to purchase your new bike and are usually unlimited in value. Some initiatives have a cap, however some also allow you to 'top-up' on your cycle to work scheme voucher allowing you to add money and purchase a higher value bike. Contact us for more details if you would like to use a cycle to work voucher as part of your purchase. If we don't currently do the initiative your employer offers we will simply sign up to it.

Customisation: We customises the majority of bikes that leave us in some way from fitting altering gear ratios to upgrading wheelsets. Use our enquiry form to contact us about customisation here.

Delivery & Shipping: The majority of our customers come to the shop to collect their bikes and receive a Bike Fit and setup advice. However if you are too far away or don't have time to collect we will simply send the bike to you, securely packed and insured. The bike will usually just require the bars tightening and front wheel inserting; setup advice will be sent via email to help you with this.
