Our and enthusiastic R&D team lives, breathes and ride bikes - all day. Creating a bike is very much a team effort, where a long list of individuals contributes their specific skill sets to ultimately bring it all together at the end. From conceptual planning via first ride prototypes and testing, integration of colour and graphics into the overall project, refining the pre-production models to the final bike that makes its way to the shop floor of your local UK Merida dealer.
For over 50 years, we have been building our bikes by hand in our own factory in Taiwan. The strong connection between our highly skilled R&D team, based in one of the design and product development hotspots in Germany, and our hugely experienced engineers, production and assembly teams in our HQ in Yuanlin enables us to control the entire production process, from initial design concept to the finished product. This unique position, along with our constant strive to improve our products, allows us to produce some of the most sophisticated bicycles in the world.
