Description Price & Spec Geometry

Colnago G5X - This is an example build, if you would like customisation of components let us know and we can quote a price for your specific build.

Guided by the concept of Ace Everywhere, the G5-X is built to be fast yet capable: a bike that stays responsive when the race is pushed to its limits, and stable, comfortable and versatile on any terrain. A new platform, not a road bike in disguise The G5-X is not derived from an existing road bike. Gravel has grown independently from cycling's other disciplines, with its own races, demands and technical challenges. Road metrics such as weight, stiffness and aerodynamics cannot simply be transferred to a gravel bike. For this reason, the G5-X was developed starting from real-world use, from each type of terrain and from the specific demands of every kind of gravel racing.

Colnago G5X | Performance, designed for gravel

- 53 mm (nominal) tire clearance. Bigger tires hold more air volume, so riders can run lower pressure. This brings more comfort and grip, better rolling efficiency on rough ground and greater flat protection. Mud is less likely to stop the wheels. (The G4-X's maximum clearance was 45 mm.)

- Slacker head angle, with increased rake. The slacker angle increases trail and wheelbase for stability at speed and confidence on steep terrain. The increased rake reduces trail again to keep steering light and responsive, especially at low speed and on tight switchbacks.

- Longer wheelbase and longer overall geometry. The G5-X holds its line on fast, loose descents. It pitches less over washboard, handles loaded bags more predictably and improves traction on loose climbs and in corners. Lower bottom bracket.

An increased BB drop (77.5-80 mm depending on size) lowers the rider's center of gravity and balances the effect of wider tires, for a more planted ride and a calmer, more predictable line on fast descents.

- New carbon layup. Responsive yet compliant. It tempers harsh vibrations on rocky, broken roads and gives immediate power transfer on climbs and sharp accelerations.

Colnago G5X | Storage, mounting and compatibilities Integrated in-frame storage.

- Tube, CO₂, tools and plug kit fit inside the down tube (storage bag and repair kit not included). Jersey pockets are freed up, nothing hangs behind the saddle, spares stay protected from mud, water and dust, and the bottle mounts remain free for hydration or bags.

- Six mounting points. Two additional mounting points on the fork keep the main triangle free for bottles, a frame bag or in-frame storage, while cargo cages on the fork can carry a small dry bag, a jacket or food. One bike can serve both short races and ultra-distance events.

- Fidlock Twist Lock. Riders can choose between standard bottle cages and Fidlock Twist Lock mounts, which lock the bottle mechanically so it won't be ejected on rough terrain. Each G5-X comes with three Fidlock Twist Lock mounts.

- Colnago CC.01 Wide. The integrated carbon monocoque handlebar has a 30 mm flare on each side (compared to 10 mm on the road CC.01), for a better gravel riding experience. Reach is 72.5 mm and drop is 120 mm.

- Round 27.2 mm seatpost. A slim round post flexes more than a larger or aero-shaped one, absorbing vibration over long hours, and opens up the widest choice of seatposts, from compliant carbon to dropper and suspension posts.

In addition to a competitive price, you will also receive our high level of service; check out our 5 stars google rating from recent reviews.

Price Match: We will endeavour to price match or even beat a price offered by other retailers based on their price and level of service. The majority of our bikes go out with some level of customisation (eg: wheelset upgrade, component size, gear ratios, tyre upgrades etc.) and this often provides better value than a discount. In addition, all our road bikes receive a complimentary Bike Fit on collection and we spend lots of time explaining the setup during collection too. If you have a bike you would like us to beat the price on you can complete our form here.

Finance: We offer 0% finance over 12 months, 4.9% finance over 18 months or 9.9% finance over 24 months. If you would like to enquire for a bike on finance you can contact us with the details using our finance application form here and we will email you an application. Alternatively you can come and see us at the shop and we will go through the finance application with you, see what you need to bring here.

Cycle to Work Scheme: A great way of saving money on your bike is using the cycle to work scheme. There are various schemes available to purchase your new bike and are usually unlimited in value. Some initiatives have a cap, however some also allow you to 'top-up' on your cycle to work scheme voucher allowing you to add money and purchase a higher value bike. Contact us for more details if you would like to use a cycle to work voucher as part of your purchase. If we don't currently do the initiative your employer offers we will simply sign up to it.

Customisation: We customises the majority of bikes that leave us in some way from fitting altering gear ratios to upgrading wheelsets. Use our enquiry form to contact us about customisation here.

Delivery & Shipping: The majority of our customers come to the shop to collect their bikes and receive a Bike Fit and setup advice. However if you are too far away or don't have time to collect we will simply send the bike to you, securely packed and insured. The bike will usually just require the bars tightening and front wheel inserting; setup advice will be sent via email to help you with this.
